Day 1

Day 1: Detox is real.

Day 1 in the books and all I can say is the detox is real. After the adventure of shopping for items that fit the elimination plan I had a box of food labeled "DO NOT EAT!!" for the other foragers in my house. As a side note, my husband is famous for eating in his sleep, the box is a necessity. He is skilled at eating in his sleep however puzzles like a closed box are too much for the zombie eater.

Dinner was a success and Zombie Eater even ate some vegan cheese:

We had open faced tacos, a small amount of grass fed beef, squash, tomatoes, salsa, vegan cheese and homemade chimmchurri topped with pea shoots. Absolute success. I found myself less hungry, so Zombie Eater ate all of his and half of mine.

My summary of thoughts of Day 1:
1.) Detox is a real thing. In my case I believe that it is the lack of sugar. I am (shamefully) addicted to all things gummy and Milk Dudd-ed. I hadn't really considered the elimination of sugars as a factor for me, my body had different plans. This is both alarming and comforting at the same time. I am feeling grateful that I was invited to do this process so that I can break the cycle of sugar in my diet.

2.) Husband will eat anything served in a pie plate that he didn't have to prepare.

3.) I forgot how YURMMMMY rice crackers were.
